An Introduction To Black Holes Information And The String Theory - Susskind, Lindesay

Synopsis
Over the last decade the physics of black holes has been revolutionized by developments that grew out of Jacob Bekenstein's realization that black holes have entropy. This revolution has culminated in a remarkable principle called "the holographic principle," which is now a major focus of attention in gravitational research, quantum field theory and elementary particle physics. Leonard Susskind, one of the co-inventors of the holographic principle as well as one of the founders of string theory, develops and explains these concepts.

Black Holes - Don Nardo

Annotation
Discusses the history and current state of scientific understanding of black holes, exploring what they are, how they are formed, potential uses, and what they tell us about the fate of the universe.
Francine Thomas - Children's Literature
Consider an object with such gravitational pull that even light cannot escape it and where most natural laws do not hold true—a "hole that curves space and warps time." Though there are potentially large numbers of black holes, these mysterious objects are not easy to observe since their darkness hides them from view. Interestingly, it may never be possible to discover what is hidden inside as long as we remain in our present physical form. Yet they continue to intrigue us and fire our imaginations. Evidence hints these wonders may be "intimately connected to many of the most fundamental processes of the universe" such as gravity, stellar evolution, formation of galaxies, and effects of time on space. In other words, understanding black holes might tell us where and how our universe began. Author Don Nardo explains that a black hole is not simply an "empty hole, or void, in space, but instead a cosmic entity having very substantial mass." He journeys through discovery beginning with Isaac Newton's 1666 theory of universal gravitation and Albert Einstein's vision of space and time in the early 1900's. Nardo reveals a complicated subject in a detailed, but straightforward manner. He poses questions to spark exciting challenges for the mind. Can black holes be used as cosmic gateways? Do they have implications for the fate of the universe? While the black and white illustrations add much, color would further enhance the drama of this nonfiction work. Bibliographic information is included for additional study. 2004, Lucent Books, Ages 8 to 12.

Female Sexual Pain Disorders

For more than two decades, the Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders have been referral centers for the treatment of vulvodynia, sexual pain disorders, dermatologic diseases of the vulva, recurrent vulvovaginal infections, and female sexual dysfunction. In 2009 we celebrated the 24th anniversary of the Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders in Washington D.C. and the 8th anniversary of our offices in New York City and Annapolis, Maryland.
Dr Goldstein's textbook Female Sexual Pain Disorders: Evaluation and Management was released in March 2009. It is the first textbook devoted completely to the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that cause pain during intercourse. All proceeds from this textbook will be donated to the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health.
We are often asked, "Why do I need to come to a specialist for my problem? Isn't my doctor able to treat this?" The unfortunate answer to these questions is that most physicians or nurse practitioners who provide routine gynecologic care have not received adequate training in the diseases of the vulva. In fact, a recent editorial in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology called the vulva the "forgotten pelvic organ." In addition, most health care providers have insufficient training in the diagnosis and treatment of sexual problems including pain during sex and decreased libido.
Most women believe that vulvar itching, burning, and vaginal discharge can only mean one thing: a yeast infection. But in fact, more than two dozen diseases can cause the symptoms of genital itching, burning, irritation, rawness, throbbing, urinary frequency, urinary urgency, and pain during sex. The physicians at the Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders are specialists in the diagnosis and treatments of these conditions.
The diseases we treat include vulvodynia, vulvar vestibulitis, interstitial cystitis, lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, chronic candidiasis, recurrent bacterial vaginosis, desquamative inflammatory vaginitis, atrophic vestibulitis, pelvic floor dysfunction, human papiloma virus infection (HPV), VIN, herpes, post-herpetic neuralgia, pudendal neuralgia, endometriosis, persistent sexual arousal disorder, and chronic pelvic pain.

good collection bro ... good stuff
but wont it make more sense if u created a seperate thread for every book ?
That way u can include more relevant words in tags so that when some one out there is looking out for ur newtonian physics ebook ... they get it ... without the pain of searching for it in this thread ...

just a suggestion ... bbye man

Nice suggestion but i think one thread having all the links and books so that it should become easy for a visitor to go through numerous books at once. But any ways i would like to hear from you again in future for guidance.

i would be creating new threads especially for the books which need more attention. what do you say???
